타이틀곡으로 낙점된 가을 감성 물씬한 발라드 '10월의 날씨'는 다분히 직접적인 표현과 상황 묘사가 주를 이뤘던 이전의 십센치 발라드들과 표현의 방법을 달리 하고 있다는 점이 흥미롭다. 예고 없이 내리는 소나기를 마주하며 느끼는 애달픈 감정들을 노래하는 이 곡은 그저 일상에서 흔히 일어날 수 있는 우울한 하루에 대한 이야기일 수도 있지만 어찌 보면 느닷없는 소나기처럼 갑작스러이 이별통보를 받은 누군가의 이야기가 될 수도 있다. 그래서 이 곡은 청자의 상황, 상상에 따라서 다르게 해석할 수 있는 여지를 열어두고 있다. 덤덤한 듯, 하지만 곡에 깊게 몰입하며 처연하게 노래하는 권정열의 보컬은 그의 보컬리스트로서의 진가를 재확인시키고 차분하게 완급을 조절하며 곡의 흐름을 이끌어 나가는 윤철종의 섬세한 기타 연주는 은은한 현악기 선율과 맞물려 아련하면서 아름답다.

새파란 하늘처럼 화사한 따사로움과 옷깃을 여미게 하는 스산함이 함께 공존하는, 마치 가을이라는 계절과도 꼭 닮은 소품집이다.

Just a great record from start to finish. Simultaneous bass groves and the vocals!!! Love this album, most authentic and unpretentious music I've heard in years. Of all the modernisations of traditional forms, the rhythms and groves fit perfectly with the soaring expression of Pansori, and prompted me to delve into and appreciate this most unique and beautiful form of cultural expression. hotratz
